My current encounters with "Inglorious Basterds" and "The Wire" reinforced my interests in such actors and I've decided to share.
I hereby present four of such not-so-famous cute guys on my list. Look for them next time when you're watching movie channels in the middle of the night.
1. Til Schweiger
He's like the top choice for any Hollywood's need of tough-looking, silent, physical guys. It'll be shocking when you find him in Lara Croft Tomb Raiser 2 or King Arthur. It's just weird. Even the more talkative roles are weird: He's "the Man" in "Already Dead". What kind of character is that? (I know my experience of watching that movie is also weird. Guilty as charged.)
However, when it comes to German movies, (by the way, he's German. Please ignore my redundancy.) he's always the big time leading man. Despite the still-weird films such as "Far Cry" (there's something I must mention, Tony Bourdain had a part in it too!!), he played quite a few deeper roles instead, and there's one that I really like called "Was tun, wenn's brennt?"("What to do in case of fire").
His most recent American work is "Inglorious Basterds", and I totally love his performance in it.
2. Gedeon Burkhard
When I spotted him in "Inglorious Basterds", I immediately screamed out "Autobahn!!!!!!". That's because he was in a German TV series playing a police of the Autobahn, the German freeway (or highway? I never get the difference. In my country, highways are freeways although none of them are free.) And he's German.(Duh) And sorry, that's pretty much all I know about him. Ask google.

3. Dominic West
He's adorable in "The Wire". He's also the hot dad in "The Forgotten". And he also played some guy that I can't recall in "Mona Lisa Smile". The odd thing is that he's probably played more American roles than the British ones in movies. And the one time (perhaps more than one, I didn't check, that's not the point here) he wasn't playing American he's playing a...guess what? Spartan!
Go check him out in "The Wire", he's like the hottest cop in the whole show.
4. Idris Elba
This guy is versatile. He's the drug selling gangster boss in "The Wire", an associate professor in "the reaping", and a...I'm not sure how to describe...some guy in "Rocknrolla". He could be a gangster and a scholar in the same time. Cool. Absolutely cool. Love his stare.
